At Limestone Behavioral Health Services, Inc., we are a team of mental health professionals and are proud of what we have established and what we can accomplish for our patients. Being a small office lets us know our patients more intimately while providing top-tier mental healthcare services.

Cheyenne Whisenant

Cheyenne Whisenant, Licensed Professional Counselor

Cheyenne is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with our practice and earned a BA in Psychology from the University of South Florida, an MS in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A & M University, and an ABA Masters from Florida Institute of Technology. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and is licensed by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling.

Cheyenne is passionate about her work with our practice and “learning new treatment modalities and assisting others in developing coping strategies.” It is important to her that people with serious mental illness know they are not alone.

Cheyenne hails from Tampa, Florida, and spent some time in Atlanta before calling Alabama home. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother and has two pigs (Little Pig and Big Pig). She enjoys being out in her yard, gardening, and cooking in her free time.

Richard Grant

Richard Grant, M.D. and Licensed Psychiatrist

Dr. Grant has been in practice for over 39 years. A New York native, Dr. Grant is a graduate of New York Medical College, and it was there that he developed an interest in psychiatry. He then furthered his education at New York State Psychiatric Institute and completed a 4-year residency program. He has served as a professor of psychiatry at Kings County Medical Center in New York City and has practiced in California, Georgia, and Alabama.

While living in New York City, Dr. Grant noticed many seriously mentally ill people living on the streets. This observation led him to seek a career where he could help alleviate their suffering. He is passionate about advancing the art of mental health treatment and human rights across the globe.

Dr. Grant is married to a tenured professor of Chemistry at Georgia State University. They have an adult daughter and several fur babies (a tabby cat and a white Persian). His hobbies include exercising, reading, and spending time with his family.

Laila Hall

Laila Hall, Office Manager

A native of Pisgah, Laila enjoys her work as the Office Manager of our practice because it allows her to help others, and “you never know what someone is going through.” Laila is a graduate of Pisgah High School and is currently pursuing a degree from Northeast Community College.

Laila enjoys spending time outdoors and considers any day spent with friends and family time well spent.

Sonya Davis

Sonya Davis, Practice Biller

Sonya is in charge of all billing for our practice and is a problem-solver that always tries to go above and beyond for our patients. She holds a BA from Greenfield Community College and an Early Childhood Development Certificate from Mitchell Community College. Sonia was born in North Carolina but lived in Massachusetts, California, and Arizona before settling down in Alabama.

Sonya is married, has one daughter and a grandchild. She and her husband love spending time with their three rescue dogs (Stella, Benny, and Maggie) and being in the mountains. Sonia is an outdoor enthusiast and looks forward to hiking the Appalachian trail one day.

Sonya also enjoys reading, crocheting, and camping, and the person that has had the most significant influence on her life was her father, who taught her “to do the right thing even if no one is watching.”
